ATLANTA - State Representative Eric Bell (D-Jonesboro), alongside Councilman Alfred Dixon, Councilwoman Asjah Miller, Cameron Dixon, the ATL Community Food Bank and Food in the City, will host an alumni food distribution event TODAY, Friday, August 14, 2026, at 12 p.m. Mundy's Mill High School in Jonesboro, Ga.
"Healthy food should not be a luxury, and supporting families should always be a community effort," said Rep. Bell. "This event is about more than distributing food. It is about showing up for our neighbors, helping families prepare for the school year and creating a space where our community can connect, have fun and feel supported."
The community event will provide families with free healthy food, free haircuts from the Atlanta Barber Institute and a gaming truck for children and families. The event is designed to help families access nutritious food, while creating an opportunity for the community to come together ahead of the new school year. Food distribution will begin at 12 p.m. and will continue while supplies last.
Rep. Bell notes that the event reflects a broader commitment to addressing food insecurity and strengthening community partnerships throughout Clayton County.
