Marion Fire Department Responds to a Fall from a Communications Tower Resulting in Fatality
At approximately 12:30 p.m. today, Oct. 10, 2025, the Marion Fire Department was dispatched to 3602 N 10th Street, Marion, for an individual who had fallen from a cell tower and was unconscious and bleeding.
The first arriving apparatus arrived at the patient to find CPR had already been initiated by others on-site. The Marion Fire Department was assisted by Area Ambulance Service in resuscitation efforts that were deemed unsuccessful. The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Marion Fire Department was assisted by the Marion Police Department, Area Ambulance Service, LifeGuard Air Ambulance and the State Medical Examiner's office.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Marion Police Department.
