The continuing investigation into the January 31, 2023, murder of Jonathan Seda, 23, inside a vacant home in the 3200 block of Crowe Drive led to today's arrest of Brandon Long, 19, of Decatur, Alabama, as the suspected killer. Long, after learning this month from Alabama authorities that he was wanted in Nashville, surrendered at MNPD headquarters and is charged with criminal homicide at Juvenile Court because he was 16 when the murder took place.
The investigation shows that Long, who was visiting Nashville at the time, lured Seda and his brother to the basement of the vacant house for a suspected drug transaction. During the meeting, Seda was fatally shot and his 18-year-old brother was wounded. The brother recovered from his injuries.
Long admitted to the shootings in an interview today. He is being held pending a detention hearing in Juvenile Court.
