Appointment of new leadership talent accelerates FINN's next chapter of growth for its technology practice
FINN Partners, one of the world's leading independent integrated marketing and communications agencies, announced today that Laura Macdonald has joined the agency as Global Technology Practice Leader, reporting to global CEO Peter Finn.
As AI reshapes industries, markets and the global conversation, Macdonald will lead FINN's nearly 300-person global technology practice, helping clients navigate an increasingly complex and high-stakes landscape. Based in San Francisco, she brings a global perspective and deep expertise in corporate, technology and consumer communications, with extensive experience shaping integrated, multi-channel programs that build reputation, influence and growth.
Prior to joining FINN, Macdonald spent more than a decade at Hotwire, serving several leadership roles across the U.S., UK and globally. Her strong contributions were recognized by her promotion first to Chief Growth officer and most recently to President, Americas, where she led several recent client wins. With her singular focus on technology, Laura brings integrated earned-first experience and expertise running global comms and integrated marketing programs for the world's most impactful and fast-growing tech brands across consumer tech, enterprise tech, AI, cybersecurity, adtech, fintech and more.
"Technology has been one of our most important practices since we founded FINN Partners, and it remains one of our largest practices globally. We continue to see strong client demand for strategic counsel to navigate this challenging, dynamic environment," said Peter Finn. "We took the time to find and pursue an extraordinary individual to join us as our new global technology practice leader. Laura Macdonald is among the most respected agency technology leaders and we are very excited to have her join us. Her philosophy on client business, team culture and her expertise in working with clients on integrated marketing, including digital and influencer, are all key strengths that make her a perfect fit for us. Her depth of global experience and relationships, along with enthusiasm to push boundaries in technology storytelling, will enable us to further accelerate our reputation within the technology comms sector and drive our business growth globally."
FINN Partner's global technology practice hit $50.3 million in fees in 2025, with work that spans consumer and B2B across AI, cybersecurity, supply chain, robotics, fintech, education, marketing, HR and global commerce. The firm counts nearly 300 technology clients globally, from large multinationals - such as 2K, Comcast, IEEE, Dayforce, NETSCOUT and TP-Link - to some of the world's most inventive emerging companies, including Roborock. Riding a wave of momentum, the agency added more than 50 new technology clients in the past year.
"I've long admired FINN, in part because its company value "work hard, play nice" has been my own personal one," said Macdonald. "FINN invests in its people, new service offerings, technology and resources to continue to be at the cutting edge of marketing and communications. They're also investing in entering new countries and sectors, and into making a real business difference for their clients - it's exactly the type of work I love to do. With AI and technology driving the global agenda, I cannot wait to capitalize on tech's leading position in society for our clients and team to drive even more growth for all
