No. 16 Lakers look to rebound against Saginaw Valley

"We talked about how, in all games, particularly rivalry games, there are going to be some ebbs and flows," Wooster added. "We got off to that great start and knew they were going to respond and have their opportunities."

This year's Battle of the Valleys pits two of the top units in the GLIAC - Saginaw Valley's passing attack against Grand Valley's passing defense.

The Cardinals have one of the strongest passing games in the conference, averaging 274 yards a game. But, the Lakers have the No. 1 passing defense in the GLIAC, allowing just 121.9 yards per contest.

Saginaw Valley has struggled to establish its running game, averaging 105.3 yards per contest, last in the conference.

Saginaw Valley upset the Lakers, 20-19, in last year's contest, but Grand Valley has won 12 of the last 13 meetings.
