Rep. Ami Bera Applauds House Passage of Taiwan Double Taxation Relief Bill

Today, U.S. Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06), co-chair of the Congressional Taiwan Caucus, released a statement applauding the House's passage of the United States-Taiwan Expedited Double-Tax Relief Act.

The bill's passage follows a bipartisan letter led by Congressman Bera and signed by 102 Members last month, urging House and Senate leadership to advance critical U.S.-Taiwan double taxation relief measures.

"The passage of this bill is a critical step toward strengthening the U.S.-Taiwan economic partnership and ensuring vital supply chains remain resilient," said Representative Bera. "Existing tax policies discourage companies in America and Taiwan from making reciprocal investments that drive innovation and economic growth. This bill will reduce costs for businesses, encourage greater foreign direct investment between Taiwan and the U.S. in critical industries like semiconductors, and enhance economic cooperation between the United States and Taiwan.
