Mayor Mantello Announces New York Main Street Grant Program Awardees for Lansingburgh's 2nd Avenue Business Corridor
Troy, NY - Mayor Carmella R. Mantello today announced the awardees of the New York Main Street Grant Program, a key initiative aimed at revitalizing Lansingburgh's 2nd Avenue business corridor through targeted investments in commercial and residential properties.
Following a review by the City's Main Street Grant Committee, three property owners were approved for funding to support façade restoration and mixed-use improvements:
The committee noted their excitement in seeing these investments in Lansingburgh and expressed confidence that each project will help spur economic growth, encourage private investment, and strengthen the neighborhood's business corridor.
Mayor Mantello praised the initiative as another step in her administration's continued commitment to Lansingburgh's growth saying, "For too long, the Lansingburgh Neighborhood was ignored and forgotten about. As someone who grew up in Lansingburgh, these funds are crucial in our ongoing mission to improve the 2nd Avenue business corridor. Our administration has already invested over $16 million into the Troy Fire Department, including the construction of a brand-new firehouse at the former J&J Auto Sales lot. We remain committed to addressing blighted and vacant properties like the old Hot Dog Charlie's and Trader Ed's Pub, which were removed after an emergency demolition this past August. These new investments will build on that momentum and further strengthen the economic vitality of Lansingburgh."
The New York Main Street Grant Program is designed to stimulate reinvestment in historic commercial districts and strengthen community anchors through strategic public-private partnerships.
