Individuals living with multiple sclerosis (MS), as well health care professionals who work with people living with MS, are being invited to take part in a new research study led by the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) Centre for Rural Health Sciences.
Led by Hannah Hollinger, nurse lecturer and PhD student, the study explores the management of MS heat sensitivity using cooling methods, with the aim of informing future approaches to care and enhancing understanding of innovative cold-therapy interventions.
Evidence suggests that cold therapies such as cryotherapy, cooling garments or cold-water exposure may ease sensitivity to heat and support management of MS symptoms.
Do you have MS?
If you are living with MS, we invite you to take part in this study.
You will participate as an anonymous expert panel member and be asked to complete three online questionnaires at different times, each exploring priorities for exposure to cold. The study will take place remotely, with online communication available throughout.

If you are a health care professional supporting people with MS, you are also invited to contribute to the study.
You will be asked to complete short, anonymous online questionnaires during the study period.
