Broadway road closure on June 19

The City of Galveston wants to ensure all businesses, residents and visitors are aware of a road closure on Thursday, June 19 affecting Broadway/Avenue J from 19^th to 25th streets.

Beginning on Thursday at 3 p.m., Broadway will be closed between 19^th and 25th streets for a Juneteenth event at Reedy Chapel. The road will be closed until approximately 10 p.m.

All vehicle traffic will also be closed on 20^th, 21^st and 22^nd, 23^rd streets from Avenue K to Avenue H. Broadway will be closed in both directions, and Sealy Avenue will be closed from 19^th to 23^rd streets.

Measures will be taken to redirect traffic to alternate routes. The detour will begin at 25^th Street and redirect traffic to either Ball Street/Avenue H or Avenue L. From the East End, traffic will be detoured along 19^th Street to Ball Street/Avenue H or Avenue L.
