History Museum Showcases Greensboro’s Little League Legends August 9

The Greensboro History Museum and Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department present "Little League Legends: Achievements of the 1965-68 Bluford Blues" at 2 pm, Saturday, August 9 at the museum, 130 Summit Ave. This free public program spotlights the history and legacy of this barrier-breaking baseball team.

Under coach John Wesley Wright Sr., the Bluford Blues went undefeated (48-0) in season play from 1965-1968. In 1968 they became the first African American team to win the City Little League Tournament. Coach Wright and the team were inducted into the Guilford County Sports Hall of Fame in 2023. "Little League Legends" brings together players who were part of the team to share their experiences on the field and what being on the team meant to them.

This community event is free and open to the public.
