WFTU–CTC Meeting: The class-oriented international trade union movement stands firm – Solidarity with Cuba Intensifies

An important online meeting was held between the leadership of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) and the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC), in the framework of the WFTU International Week of Action in Solidarity with Cuba (April 6-12).

Key interventions were delivered by the WFTU General Secretary, the WFTU President, and the leadership of the CTC. Contributions were also made by the Coordinator of the WFTU Regional Office for Latin America, sectoral leaders of the CTC, and General Secretaries of the Trade Union Internationals (TUIs).

The meeting reaffirmed the unwavering internationalist solidarity of the class-oriented trade union movement with the heroic Cuban people. Speakers highlighted the escalating aggression against Cuba and exposed the severe consequences of the long-standing imperialist embargo, which continues to create economic hardship and target the living conditions of workers.

At the same time, a clear and militant message emerged: solidarity must be practical, mass-based, and rooted in the workplaces. Across the world, trade unions are mobilizing with demonstrations, meetings, and concrete support initiatives.

The WFTU and its affiliates stand firmly with Cuba's working class in its struggle to defend sovereignty, dignity, and its chosen path of development.

✊ Hands off Cuba!
✊ End the blockade now!
✊ Cuba is not alone!
