Lancaster-area startup Lab Ready Workforce is launching a five-day Lab Technician Accelerator at Millersville University from July 13 to 17. The program is designed to introduce high school graduates, adult learners and career seekers to laboratory science careers through hands-on training and direct exposure to real-world lab work.
Laboratory technician positions are in demand across industries including pharmaceuticals, environmental testing, food and beverage production, and manufacturing. Many of these roles require only a high school diploma or equivalent, while offering competitive entry-level pay and opportunities for long-term career growth.
Throughout the week, participants will receive hands-on laboratory training, work through real-world lab scenarios, build professional skills, receive resume and interview support, and connect with employers who hire for these positions. The goal is to help participants leave with the confidence, technical foundation and professional preparation needed to interview for and begin entry-level laboratory roles.
Lab Ready Workforce is also connecting participants with local employers to address workforce shortages and build a stronger pipeline of trained talent in the region.
