Mayor Bowser Encourages Residents to Celebrate DC’s Creativity at Art All Night 2025

(Washington, DC) - Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser is inviting residents and visitors to experience Art All Night 2025, the District's largest free arts festival, taking place on Friday, September 12 and Saturday, September 13, from 7 pm to 3 am each night. Now in its 14th year, the festival has become a signature citywide event, bringing together artists, small and local businesses, and community organizations to activate neighborhoods with live music, dance, theater, fashion shows, film screenings and family-friendly programming.

"We are a talented and creative city and Art All Night is not only a celebration of that talent, it's an opportunity to discover something new - an artist, a venue, a local business," said Mayor Bowser. "We want people to check out the many Art All Night events happening across all eight wards, make a plan, and enjoy DC."

Spanning all eight wards, Art All Night offers something for everyone, from local gallery exhibits and outdoor performances, to dining experiences and neighborhood block parties. It is a featured event of 202Creates, a month-long celebration of DC's creative economy.

Art All Night is presented in partnership with the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD), the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the DC Main Streets program, and the DC Public Library (DCPL). The festival supports DC's creative economy by increasing visibility for local artists and small and local businesses, driving foot traffic to commercial corridors and restaurants, and reinforcing the District's reputation as a vibrant cultural destination.

"Art All Night has always been about celebrating community, creativity, and connection," said Rosemary Suggs-Evans, Director of the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development. "This year, we're making it even easier for residents and visitors to be part of the experience with our new mobile app. It's a tool that puts the festival in your hands-helping you explore incredible artists, small businesses, and cultural activations that make DC such a vibrant place to live, work, and visit."

The Art All Night mobile app is available for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play. It helps residents and visitors explore participating neighborhoods with interactive maps, real-time schedule updates, and event filters by interest. Users can create personalized itineraries, save favorite performances and restaurants, and receive alerts to stay informed throughout the festival.
