Miranda Lambert Debuts Classic Country Heartbreaker With 'Old-School Patsy Cline Feeling'

Miranda Lambert debuted "a timeless heartbreak song" from her soon-to-release studio record on Friday (September 18).

Lambert delivered "Two Things Can Be True," which she wrote with Jesse Frasure, Natalie Hemby, Ilya Toshinskiy, Kris Wilkinson and husband Brendan McLoughlin. Lambert produced the track with Frasure. "Two Things Can Be True" is "wrapped in the lush, vintage-inspired sounds of classic country," and finds Lambert "navigating the complicated space between knowing a love is slipping away and still holding on to it," according to a press release issued Friday morning.

"'Two Things Can Be True' is probably my favorite song on the record right now," Lambert said in a statement. "There's something about it that feels almost like singing a duet with the steel and strings, and it's country through and through with an old-school Patsy Cline feeling. I love that it found its own little corner of the Crisco world."

"Two Things Can Be True" is the latest track to arrive from Crisco, Lambert's upcoming studio record that's "already drawing attention for its retro sensibility and expansive take on country music," the press release states. So far, Lambert has released the title track, "Till The Going's Gone," "A Song To Sing" with Chris Stapleton, and "Sunset Marquis" from her upcoming 12-track album:

"I've always loved every corner of country music," Lambert previously said in a statement. We followed the songs wherever they wanted to go, trusted our instincts and ended up with something that feels really fun and really honest to who I am."

Crisco "celebrates the many worlds that have always existed within country music as it nods to the genre's shared history with disco music," states the press release issued Friday morning. Lambert's upcoming studio record "explores heartbreak and hope, highways and honky-tonks, rhinestones and roller skates, creating a record that feels both timeless and refreshingly alive while embracing every side of the artist fans have come to love: the storyteller, the wanderer, the romantic, the troublemaker, the traditionalist and the dreamer."
