At its May 22 meeting, the Cornell University Board of Trustees elected five new trustees to four-year terms: Jason Brauth '02; Winifred Sandler Grinspoon '83; Angela Hwang, MBA '94; John H. Josephson '83; and Karin Bain Kukral '82.

Also at the meeting, six current trustees were reelected to four-year terms: Richard S. Emmet II '94; Bobby Jain '92; Kevin P.B. Johnson '88; Eric A. Kutcher '96, M.Eng, '97; Bruce S. Raynor '72; and Hernán J.F. Sáenz, MBA '98, M.I.L.R. '98.
They join recent alumni-elected trustees Arturo Carrillo '96, M.Eng '97, and Ernest Eric Elmore '86, J.D. '89, who will serve four-year terms, and Tara Holm, professor and chair of the Department of Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S), who will serve as faculty-elected trustee for a four-year term.
All the newly elected trustees' terms begin July 1.
Brauth is partner and global co-head of fixed income, currency and commodity and a member of the management committee at Goldman Sachs, where he has worked since 2001. He is a former member of the A&S Advisory Council (2015-23) and the A&S Career Connections Committee and Finance Team (2014-17).
Grinspoon is an attorney and president of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, a nonprofit organization that operates and supports programs that help people connect to Jewish faith, culture and community. She previously served on the board of Cornell Hillel, which was renamed the Steven K. and Winifred A. Grinspoon Hillel Center for Jewish Community at Cornell.
Hwang is the CEO-partner at Flagship Pioneering and CEO of Metaphore Biotechnologies. Previously, she spent almost 30 years at Pfizer, most recently as chief commercial officer and president of the global biopharmaceuticals business. Hwang is a member of the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management's Advisory Council (2020-28) and was named a Robert S. Hatfield Economic Fellow at Cornell in 2022.
Josephson is chairman and chief executive officer of SESAC Music Group, a rights management company. A member of the A&S Advisory Council (2010-27) and the Cornell University Council (2005-27), Josephson formerly served on the A&S Campaign Committee (2022-25) and the Class of 1983 35th Reunion Campaign (2017-18).
Kukral is a real estate consultant at Northwood Investors. She is a member of the Cornell Committee on Alumni Trustee Nominations (2023-27), where she served as vice chair (2025-26). She is also a member of the Cornell University Council (2025-29) and the Big Red Champions Council (2025-28). Kukral previously served on the Athletics Advisory Council (2013-17) and the Class of 1982 20th Reunion Campaign Major Gifts Committee (2001-02).
Carrillo is chief financial officer at Tabani Group Inc., a family office and real estate investment firm. Prior roles include managing director and chief investment officer at Dobbs Equity Partners, and president and chief financial officer of Vitro America. He has served as chair of the Cornell University Council and is currently chair of the council's nominating committee.
Elmore is an antitrust consultant specializing in merger and acquisition matters and serves as chair of the Antitrust Law Section of the National Bar Association. Previously, he worked for more than 30 years at the Federal Trade Commission. He is a member of the Cornell Law School DEI Alumni Leadership Council, the Cornell University Council and the Cornell Law School Advisory Council.
Holm earned her undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College and her Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to coming to Cornell, she was an assistant professor at the University of Connecticut. Holm's research in theoretical mathematics focuses on symplectic geometry, which is the natural geometry of classical and quantum mechanics. She has served on Cornell's Faculty Senate and the University Faculty Committee.
