Keep Lincoln and Lancaster County Beautiful (KLLCB), in partnership with Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Watershed Management Division, invites community members to help beautify the city at a litter cleanup event from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, October 17. Participants should meet at the picnic shelter in American Legion Park, 26th and Randolph streets.
"Each piece of litter we pick up protects Lincoln's streams, because if it's in our streets, it ends up in our streams. Even one hour of your time can make a big difference in keeping pollution out of our waterways and creating a cleaner, healthier community for everyone," said Erin Kubicek, LTU Senior Environmental Health Educator.
Volunteers are encouraged to sign up online at lincoln.ne.gov/NeighborhoodCleanup. All cleanup supplies will be provided.
