Padilla Secures Nearly $10 Million for Six Projects Across Greater Sacramento Region

SACRAMENTO, CA - Today, U.S. Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) announced that he secured over $9.8 million in federal funding for six projects across the Greater Sacramento Region through Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations bills. This funding is part of the $241,794,366 in total Congressionally Directed Spending funding that Padilla delivered for California for FY 2026.

"I am proud to help secure millions in federal funding to support transformative projects that will deliver lasting improvements for communities across the Greater Sacramento Region," said Senator Padilla. "These investments will support local governments and non-profits working on the ground in our communities. They will bolster our water supply and infrastructure, provide critical support services for individuals with disabilities, and expand adult education opportunities. As Californians struggle with the rising cost of living under President Trump's harmful economic agenda, these crucial investments will make a tangible difference for Sacramento residents."

Projects across the Greater Sacramento Region that will receive federal funding include:

  • Sacramento Area Environmental Infrastructure (Roseville, CA) - $5.30 million: This project provides Roseville with access to contracted surface water resources during times of drought or emergency. The project includes the construction of a raw water pipeline and pumping facilities to connect an existing Placer County Water Agency intake, along the upper American River, to Roseville's Barton Road Water Treatment Plant.
  • Arden Service Area Water Supply Project - $1.09 million: Sacramento County's Arden Service Area Water Supply Project would equip the existing Arden Way well with a well pump, chemical injection system, hydropneumatics tank, and advanced instrumentation and operational controls, delivering potable water to the Arden Park Vista distribution system.
  • Walnut Grove Water System Improvements - $1 million: This funding will improve water resources and infrastructure in the community of Walnut Grove.
  • Programming and Supportive Services for Individuals with Disabilities, Including Equipment (Meristem, Inc.) - $1 million: This funding will develop a pilot program of best practices for delivering independent living skills to prepare adults with autism and other developmental disabilities for increased independence and meaningful employment.
  • Expanding an Adult Learning Program, Including Purchasing Technology and Providing Financial Aid - $901,000: This funding for the "Comebacker" program will help expand the Los Rios Community College District's adult learners program. The program provides adults returning to education with an opportunity to complete degrees and certificates in high-demand fields such as computing, engineering, and health care.
  • Real-Time Information Center Enhancements - $581,000: This funding will support advanced technology to ensure community safety during critical events in the City of Elk Grove.
