Kansas City is promoting sustainability through a new native plant program in partnership with Deep Roots KC and the Missouri Department of Conservation. This initiative supports a recent citywide code update that embraces "managed natural landscapes" across the metro. The updated code offers clearer guidance for residents and property owners who choose to incorporate native plants, underscoring the City's commitment to sustainability, biodiversity, and community beautification.
Deep Roots KC provides free education and outreach opportunities with support from the Missouri Department of Conservation. This includes:
