Sen. RaShaun Kemp Sworn In to Represent Georgia’s 38th Senate District

ATLANTA (January 15, 2025) - On Monday, Sen. RaShaun Kemp (D-South Fulton) was sworn in to represent the 38th Senate District for the 2025-2026 Biennium.

"I'm grateful to the people of the 38th Senate District for placing their trust in me to fight for their needs under the Gold Dome," said Sen. Kemp. "Being the first openly gay man to serve in the Georgia Senate is a historic milestone, and I am deeply humbled by the opportunity to bring new perspectives to this body. Together, my colleagues and I will tackle the challenges facing all Georgians and work to make Georgia a place where, regardless of their background, everyone can thrive."

This is Sen. Kemp's first term as a Georgia State Senator, serving Georgia's 38th Senate District, which includes a portion of Fulton County. Sen. Kemp will also serve as a member of the Senate Committees on Education and Youth, Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Government Oversight, State Institutions and Property, and Urban Affairs.
