Informal labour exchange teams and participation on the labour market: Evidence from rural Tanzania

Abstract

This paper assesses whether informal arrangements may actually promote exchanges in the market. The authors study rural labour exchange teams, an organisation that is found in many different areas but still under documented in the economic literature.

This is an part of the Structural Transformation and Economic Growth (STEG) programme.
