CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Sept. 24, 2024) - As Tropical Storm Helene moves toward Florida, we urge all residents living in temporary housing units to evacuate as a precaution.

Here are a few tips for those in temporary housing units to follow during severe weather:

  • Do not move, unstrap, or unblock travel trailers.
  • Have multiple ways to monitor and receive weather alerts.
  • Follow guidance from local county emergency management officials.
  • Establish an evacuation route ahead of time.
  • Evacuate with essential personal property and pets.
  • Don't wait. Leave immediately when local officials order you to do so.
