City of Toledo Announces Opening of New Clean Toledo Recycling Center

The City of Toledo will open a new Clean Toledo Recycling Center at 3900 Creekside Ave, providing residents with a self-service, year-round option for recycling and waste disposal. The facility will officially open to the public on Tuesday, June 2.

The Clean Toledo Recycling Center will be open to Toledo residents from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays. Proof of residency will be required for use.

The new, stationary facility expands on the City's Clean Toledo initiative by offering a consistent and convenient alternative to the seasonal Clean Toledo Free Refuse and Recycling Drop-Off events traditionally held during the summer months. Designed as a self-service facility, the center allows residents to unload their own materials for a faster, more efficient experience. City staff will be on-site to monitor materials, provide direction, ensure safety, and assist as needed.

Accepted Materials Include:

  • Donations of gently used, good-condition items
  • Electronics
  • Scrap metal
  • Appliances (without refrigerant)
  • Food waste
  • Recyclables
  • Yard waste (no grass clippings)

Special Collection Events for Select Materials

Household hazardous waste and tires will not be accepted at the Creekside location, but can be disposed of during designated collection events:

  • Saturday, June 13 - Toledo Road & Bridge Maintenance Building, 1189 Central Ave.
  • Saturday, August 15 - Location to be determined
  • Saturday, October 3 - Toledo Road & Bridge Maintenance Building, 1189 Central Ave.

The Clean Toledo Recycling Center reflects the City of Toledo's ongoing commitment to improving basic service delivery, enhancing neighborhood quality, and promoting environmentally responsible practices.
