Governor JB Pritzker has appointed Kris Lutt to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of Illinois State University. This appointment fills a vacant seat following the resignation of Trustee Scott Jenkins on Friday, July 25. Jenkins stepped down for personal reasons.
Lutt is a results-oriented executive in the agriculture and food ingredient industry with a track record of increasing profits, encouraging expansion, and fostering a positive corporate culture. He currently serves as President of Sustainable Materials and Strategic Initiatives at Archer Daniels Midland. In this role, Lutt is responsible for the growth of strategy in key areas such as defossilization, decarbonization and BioSolutions.
"We are honored to welcome Kris to the Illinois State University Board of Trustees," said Illinois State University President Aondover Tarhule. "He exemplifies the kind of success and service we hope to inspire in all Redbirds. His personal journey-from student to global executive-reflects the transformative power of an Illinois State education. We look forward to the insight, integrity, and innovation he will bring to our Board."
He is an active member of the community, serving as a board member of the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation. Lutt received a Bachelor of Science from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a Master of Business Administration from Illinois State University.
