La Mesa Paper Shredding Event & More

The City of La Mesa, EDCO, and Goodwill of San Diego County are partnering to host a Paper Shredding Event & More at the City Hall parking lot located at 8130 Allison Avenue on Saturday, October 25 from 9 AM-12 PM. Paper shredding is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis; La Mesa residents can bring up to 2 banker's boxes of paper to shred.

In addition to the paper shredding station, three additional stations will be available at the same time in the parking lot, including: a self-serve compost pile, electronic waste collection, and Goodwill donation collection.

  • Please bring sturdy containers, a shovel, and place a tarp over a truck bed over the compost, if needed. There is no limit to take compost and it is first-come, first-served.
  • Electronic waste will be collected, including items such as computer parts, old TVs and printers, and cell phones and tablets.
  • Goodwill will also collect donations such as new and used clothing and shoes, new and used kitchenware such as dishes, pots, and pans, and other small household items.
