Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu Attends the National Day of Singapore and Singapore Armed Forces Day Reception

On August 7, 2026, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu attended upon invitation the National Day of Singapore and Singapore Armed Forces Day reception held by the Embassy of Singapore in China, and met with Ambassador of Singapore to China Peter Tan Hai Chuan.

Miao Deyu congratulated Singapore on its National Day, noting that last year's meeting between President Xi Jinping and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong provided important strategic guidance for advancing  the all-round high-quality and future-oriented partnership between China and Singapore. The two sides have maintained close exchanges at all levels, continuously deepened mutually beneficial cooperation, and launched multiple landmark inter-governmental projects. Both sides have also been expanding cooperation in emerging fields such as the digital economy, green development, and artificial intelligence, delivering tangible benefits to the people of both countries. China is fully confident in the prospects of China-Singapore cooperation.

Peter Tan Hai Chuan stated that Singapore-China relations have a long history, marked by close high-level exchanges and fruitful cooperation. Singapore is willing to work together with China to continuously enhance mutual trust and friendship, promote the sustained development of bilateral relations, and create a better tomorrow for the people of both countries.
