Shriners Children's Las Vegas proudly welcomed the community to our new clinic during this year's Back-to-School Bash, celebrating a successful day of family fun, community engagement and pediatric care.
The event brought nearly 300 community members through our doors, giving families an opportunity to tour the new clinic space, meet our care team and learn more about the services available close to home. Nearly 100 student-athletes received sports physicals, helping them prepare for a safe and healthy school sports season.
The celebration featured something for every member of the family, including local food trucks, a photo booth, face painting and one of the day's biggest hits - a teddy bear clinic. Young children were invited to bring their favorite stuffed animals through a mock orthopedic visit, allowing them to experience an exam in a fun, interactive environment while helping ease anxiety about future medical appointments.
The event also showcased the dedication of the Shriners Children's Las Vegas team. Staff members from across the clinic volunteered their time, energy and enthusiasm to create a welcoming experience for every family who attended. The overwhelmingly positive feedback reflected not only the excitement surrounding the new clinic, but also the culture of compassion and service that defines Shriners Children's.
"Our goal has been to create more than just a clinic - we're building a place where children and families feel welcomed, supported and confident in the care they'll receive," said Jenifer Powers, M.D., physician chief of Shriners Children's Las Vegas. "Seeing hundreds of families walk through our doors, meeting our incredible team, and watching children smile as they cared for their teddy bears reminded us exactly why we're here. The response from our community has been incredibly encouraging, and we're excited to continue expanding access to exceptional pediatric orthopedic care throughout Southern Nevada."
Practice Manager Roxy Solis credited the event's success to the collaboration and commitment of the entire team.
"This event truly reflected who we are as an organization," said Solis. "Every member of our staff stepped up to make families feel welcome, whether they were checking in athletes for sports physicals, guiding tours of the clinic, or helping children through the teddy bear clinic. The positive feedback we received from the community reinforced that we're building something very special here, and we're excited to continue serving the children and families of Southern Nevada."
The Back-to-School Bash marked an exciting milestone for Shriners Children's Las Vegas as we continue to grow our presence in the community and fulfill our mission of providing world-class pediatric specialty care to every child, regardless of a family's ability to pay or insurance status. More importantly, it demonstrated the enthusiasm of a community ready to embrace a new resource dedicated to helping children live healthier, more active lives.
