Aggravated Assault – Arrests: C25-70488

On April 4, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., patrolling Central District officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Ellice Avenue after multiple reports of a stabbing incident.

Responding officers located a 30-year-old male victim, near Vaughaun Street and The Promenade, who had sustained an upper-body stabbing injury. Officers provided the victim with emergency medical care with the application of a chest seal. A second male victim, aged 19 years, was located in the 400 block of Qu'Appelle Avenue also suffering from an upper-body stabbing injury. Both victims were transported to hospital in stable condition where they received further medical attention..

Through the investigation, officers determined the victims were part of two separate groups who were involved in a verbal confrontation which escalated to a physical altercation. Both victims produced edged weapons and assaulted one another causing upper-body injuries. Several calls were received for police to attend.

A 19-year-old male and a 25-year-old male, both of Winnipeg face charges of Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon.

A 30-year-old male of Winnipeg faces a charge of Possession of a Weapon.

The two injured males were unknown to one another prior to this incident.

All three were released via Undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.
