Protecting Social Security
Yesterday, we marked 91 years of Social Security standing as a pillar of opportunity and peace of mind for generations of Americans. For nearly a century, this vital lifeline has provided millions of seniors, people with disabilities and families with the economic security they earned through a lifetime of hard work.

Social Security represents a sacred promise to the American people: if you work hard and pay into the system, you should be able to retire with dignity. But Donald Trump and House Republicans are working to dismantle it-closing offices, firing staff and slashing services. These cruel actions will force more seniors to wait longer, travel farther and risk losing the benefits they rely on. We cannot and will not allow that to happen. Democrats will always fight to strengthen Social Security for today's families, tomorrow's retirees and generations to come.

Honoring Our PACT
Four years ago, our Democratic Majority delivered on a solemn duty to our heroes by passing the Honoring our PACT Act-the largest expansion of VA health care and benefits in decades. This landmark law ensures that Veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxic substances receive the care and support they deserve.

The PACT Act honors a sacred promise: just as we leave no soldier behind on the battlefield, we leave no Veteran behind when they return home. It provides critical benefits not only to Veterans, but also to survivors and their families-extending a lifeline of health care, compensation and recognition to those who have sacrificed for our nation. Yet the Trump Administration is dishonoring that promise by gutting the VA workforce that Veterans depend on for their care and benefits. Democrats will continue fighting these reckless attacks and defending the PACT Act so that every Veteran receives the care they have earned and our nation promised them.

Investing in American Innovation
Four years ago, President Biden signed the CHIPS and Science Act into law, creating good-paying jobs, strengthening American manufacturing and making historic investments in the research and innovation that keep our nation competitive. By bringing semiconductor manufacturing back to America, Democrats delivered an investment in our workers, our economy and our national security.

America has always led the world through the ingenuity and determination of our people. While President Trump has attacked these critical investments, Democrats remain committed to strengthening American manufacturing, supporting cutting-edge research and ensuring that America continues to lead the world in science, technology and innovation.
