Grupo Oesía wins five new technology projects from the European Defence Fund

• The Spanish company will contribute to the development of strategic technological capabilities for European defense in key areas such as advanced simulation, artificial intelligence, space technologies, radar systems and avionics.

Madrid, April 21, 2026 - Grupo Oesía, a Spanish multinational technology company specializing in dual-use engineering, it consolidates its position as a relevant player in the European technological field after the allocation of five new projects in the 2025 call of the European Defence Fund (EDF).

These five new projects are in addition to those already awarded to the Spanish multinational in the previous call (VANTAGE, ENGRT II and NEUROQUAD) and cover essential strategic capabilities for European defense, such as advanced simulation, artificial intelligence, space technologies, radar systems and avionics.

This new milestone reaffirms the Group's role as a leading technology partner, with its subsidiaries Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía, Cipherbit-Grupo Oesía and Oesía Networks participating in key European projects to strengthen European strategic autonomy:

• EVOLVE (Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía) aims to define a European reference concept for Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training that enables effective, sustainable, and cost-efficient multi-domain training (MDO). The initiative integrates real and simulated systems across the air, land, sea, cyberspace, and space domains, contributing to advanced operational readiness for European armed forces.
• SHIMBAD (Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía) is focused on the design and validation of a scalable 4D AESA radar demonstrator capable of operating in multiple frequency bands. This technology will enable large-area surveillance, precise target tracking, and advanced electronic protection capabilities in highly contested electromagnetic environments.
• SPIDER2 (Cipherbit-Grupo Oesía) addresses the development of affordable satellite constellations for defense ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) missions. Aligned with national and European Union initiatives, the project will offer high responsiveness, short revisit times, and low system latency, strengthening European space capabilities.
• EPIIC2 (Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía) is driving the development of next-generation cockpit technologies, eliminating current limitations so pilots can focus on tactical leadership and the execution of critical missions. The project will significantly improve operational effectiveness and safety on air platforms.
• AI-SHIELD (Oesía Networks) is developing an advanced solution to enhance intelligence analysis, situational awareness, and tactical decision support, while ensuring data confidentiality. The project is based on open-source European language models and incorporates inspired quantum compression techniques that reduce size and energy consumption by up to 80%, with minimal impact on performance.

With a solid track record in R&D&I, Grupo Oesía has already participated in more than 30 European initiatives within the framework of programs such as EDF, Horizon Europe and Digital Europe Programme.
