CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: "FUTURE IS THE EU" YOUTH SUMMIT

The European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels, in cooperation with the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is organising the "Future is the EU"' Youth Summit. The event will take place between 8 and 10 May 2026 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the occasion of Europe Day 2026.

With an overarching goal of developing a Joint Youth Declaration, the Summit will bring together 80 young people from across the country, to engage in a three-day event with a structured dialogue and a collaborative drafting. Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in a networking reception and enjoy the Europe Day celebrations.

The Summit aims to demonstrate that a new generation of citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina is ready to take responsibility, engage constructively, and actively contribute to the country's European future, offering a forward-looking thinking and ideas that can move the country on its EU path.

The official working languages of the Summit are Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian.

All participation costs (travel, accommodation, meals, and materials) are covered by the organizers.

CRITERIA TO APPLY:

- Citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina

- Between 18 - 30 years of age

- Motivation to share ideas, discuss important issues, and co-create a Joint Youth Declaration together with peers from across the country.

- No previous experience is required, however earlier participation in EU programmes will be considered an advantage.

HOW TO APPLY

Selected participants are expected to fully attend the programme. If you are interested in participating, fill out the form you can find here (https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/YouthSummit2026).

The deadline for applying is 23.59 h on 3 April 2026.

Once registered, your participation will be confirmed by 13 April due to limited number of participants.
