ICFJ to Discuss Future of News at the 2026 International Journalism Festival

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) will be at the International Journalism Festivalin Perugia, Italy later this month, along with Code for Africa and Proto, our partners in our joint venture ICFJ+. We will share insights about the future of journalism - from news creators and shared services to radical collaboration and funding models. Sessions can be watched live online, and recordings will be available here.

  • Creators and the Future of Journalism: Insights on Infrastructure Building from the U.S. and South Africa
    ICFJ+ Co-CEO and Code for Africa Founding CEO Justin Arenstein will join a conversation on the challenges faced by news creators and the future of the creator journalist model. - April 16, 5pm
  • Shared Services as Critical Infrastructure: What Publishers, Partners and Funders Need to Know
    ICFJ President and ICFJ+ Co-CEO Sharon Moshavi will take part in a panel exploring the benefits of shared services for independent media. She will speak about the research behind the Plus Hub, ICFJ+'s shared services initiative, and what the hub brings to news providers. - April 17, 11:30am
  • Radical Collaboration in a Time of Existential Transformation
    ICFJ VP of Strategic Initiatives Maggie Farley will moderate a conversation about how radical collaboration can provide a path forward for journalism. Sharon Moshavi will talk about ICFJ+ as an example of organizational collaboration. - April 17, 2pm
  • Journalism Funding's New Realism: What is Gone and What is Not Yet Next
    Sharon Moshavi will discuss all things funding in a session exploring the seismic changes in the journalism funding landscape. - April 18, 5pm

    DW Freedom will be launching its new State of Media DevelopmentReport, which includes a case study on ICFJ+. - April 16, 6:30pm
  • dpa AI soirée with Nikita Roy - Bring Your Own AI Problems!
    Former ICFJ Knight Fellow Nikita Roy will offer answers, advice and solutions to your AI questions and problems. - April 17, 6:30pm
