WASHINGTON, D.C. - Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Andrew N. Mais met with members of the Connecticut congressional delegation on May 14-15 as part of the 2025 NAIC Commissioner Fly-In to discuss key regulatory and legislative priorities impacting Connecticut consumers and insurance markets nationwide.
The annual event, hosted by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), brought state insurance regulators to Capitol Hill to meet with federal lawmakers and advocate for policy solutions that strengthen the insurance system while protecting consumers.
During his meetings in Washington, Commissioner Mais focused on issues including:
"It was important to emphasize that while we're making great strides at the state level, we need strong, coordinated action at the federal level to ensure markets remain stable, consumers are treated fairly, and costs are not unfairly shifted to the states," said Commissioner Mais. "These discussions with our congressional delegation help strengthen that partnership and support the long-term resilience of our markets."
