April DAHP IT Quarterly

WA State DAHP sent this bulletin at 04/01/2026 08:00 AM PDT

Greetings DAHP'ers!

This is your mobile phone quarterly reminder:

  1. Passcode - If you input your phone's passcode incorrectly 3 times, immediately file a ticket with WaTech to have them wipe your passcode so you can create a new one. If you input an incorrect passcode too many times, your phone will lock and then next time you put in a passcode it will wipe everything (including your cellular service) without giving a warning.
  2. COMP Portal - Log into the Comp Portal app on your mobile device. Check your Notifications section in the app to see if you require updates.
  3. Teams App - Open your Teams app to confirm you're logged in so you receive notifications.
  4. Backup Photos to OneDrive - Open your OneDrive app to prompt your photos to automatically download. Tap on your profile in the top left corner and confirm there is a scrolling blue circle next to Camera Backup and a countdown showing the number of items left in the backup. Keep your app open until you see a green checkmark and "Backup complete" here.
  5. Empty OneDrive Recycle Bin - In your OneDrive app, tap your profile in the top left corner and tap on Recycle Bin (just below Camera Backup). Select the files in here and permanently delete them to empty your OneDrive Recycle Bin. This is in addition to emptying the Recycle Bin on your desktop, so be sure to empty both.
  6. Voicemails - Manage and file your voicemails. Remember to empty your "Deleted Messages" folder so your voicemail won't fill up. Open the Phone app and tap Voicemail. Scroll down to Deleted Messages and tap it. Tap Edit, then Clear All, or swipe left on individual messages to delete them permanently.
  7. Downloaded Records - Transfer all records from your mobile device, label them based on content, and file them for records retention.
  8. Software Update - Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install the update if you have one available to keep your phone working properly.

Email Spring Cleaning:

  1. We don't use the Archive option in Outlook, so check this folder and file any emails in here.
  2. Check your Junk Folder and clear it out regularly. Every so often you may find an email that should have gone to your Inbox but it accidentally went here instead.
  3. File any messages in your Sent Folder. Make sure to file all emails you send and receive.
  4. Remember to delete or file all transitory emails.
