Detectives Recover Two Stolen Vehicles at Backyard Chop Shop

Vehicle Crimes detectives Thursday located two stolen vehicles at a residence in the 1200 block of Bubbling Well Road that were being stripped for parts by two suspects, Miguel Alvarenga-Torres, 20, and a 17-year-old male.

Both fled from detectives who took them into custody after a brief chase. Two stolen vehicles, a 2020 Infiniti Q50 and a 2018 Dodge Charger, were recovered.

Alvarenga-Torres is charged with two counts of vehicle theft, vandalism, evading arrest, and operating a chop shop. He is being held on $47,000 bond. The teen is similarly charged in Juvenile Court with an additional charge of juvenile handgun possession.
