Snowstorm recap
The City had over 11" of snow and ice accumulation during this weekend's winter storm, which began on Sunday and ended early Monday. Public Works crews continue to clear streets and public property sidewalks of snow and ice, and the City has brought in outside contractors to expedite snow removal operations. The City has also partnered with the Hoboken Business Alliance and the County for snow removal along Washington Street and County roads and the City's Health, Sanitation, and Fire Department inspectors are in the process of reviewing over 200 complaints for uncleared sidewalks.
Between early Sunday morning and Monday night, Public Safety personnel responded to over 550 calls for service. The Hoboken Fire Department responded to 38 calls for service and shoveled 120 hydrants, EMS responded to 33 calls for service, and the Hoboken Police Department responded to 210 calls related to the snow event as well as another 272 unrelated to the storm.
Additional Emergency Snow Routes lifted

All other snow emergency routes are still being enforced, and vehicles parked on these routes are subject to towing. These include:
Emergency snow routes in Hoboken are labeled with street signs that read "No Parking When Road Is Snow Covered." A map and a list of emergency snow routes are available on the City's website https://www.hobokennj.gov/snow.
Discounted garage parking ended today at 4 p.m.
Anyone parked in Municipal Garage B, Garage D, or the Midtown Garage at the discounted rate, is reminded that discounted garage parking ended at 4 p.m. today. Those who have not gone to remove their vehicle will be charged the posted rate for any additional time after 4 p.m. Residents who parked in the garages before the discounted rate went into effect will pay the posted hourly rate up until 4 p.m. on Saturday, in addition to the discounted rate.
Exit lines are known to form when the discounted rate ends due to extra payment processing times.
Street cleaning suspended & meter enforcement resumes
Street cleaning will remain suspended until further notice so City staff can continue to prioritize snow removal at curb ramps, crosswalks, and bus stops particularly near schools and senior buildings.
Meter enforcement will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
The City will continue to enforce safety-related parking regulations, including illegal parking, blocking crosswalks, and double parking. Loading zone regulations will also be enforced to ensure businesses and residents can continue to receive deliveries. Bus stops will also be enforced.
Senior programming cancelled
Senior programming will be cancelled until further notice due to a failing HVAC system at the Multi-Service Center. The City's Rent Control Office and Senior Services will be remote and remain closed until further notice.
Clear sidewalks, curb ramps, and hydrants
City public works crews and contractors continue to remove snow on public properties. Property owners who have not cleared snow and ice from the sidewalks, curb cuts, and curb ramps adjacent to their property are subject to fines between $250 and $2,000.
Those who wish to report an unshoveled or untreated property, can email [email protected].
