CIS Strengthens Cooperation in Transport Construction and Road Infrastructure Development

On 30 April, an international research to practice conference "Improving the quality and safety of highways" was held at the headquarters of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly - the Tavricheskiy Palace.

The conference was attended by representatives of authorities, experts in the field of transport and road management, as well as specialists from scientific organizations and companies involved in infrastructure development.

The organizer was the CIS Advisory Board of Highway Authorities with the support of the CIS Executive Committee and Interparliamentary Assembly.

The topics of discussion included issues of road infrastructure development and improving its safety, as well as the use of modern materials and technologies in road construction.

Secretary General of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy sent his greetings to the participants of the event.

The Secretary General said that the Assembly had developed Model Law on Safe Transport, on Transportation, on Transport Tariff Regulation, on Environmental Safety of Motor Vehicles, on Road Safety and on Automobile Transport. The work still continues, as noted in the welcoming speech, which was voiced by Head of the Expert and Analytical Department of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Denis Zhuk.

The conference presented reports on the state and development of highways in the Leningrad Region, issues and prospects for the development of road facilities in St. Petersburg, and the introduction of innovative technologies in the highway industry.
