03/02/2026 - Help shape sidewalk repair policy

Fixing Olympia's sidewalks. We need your help.

The City is working on a long-term policy for sidewalk repair. We'd like your help deciding where the City should fix damaged sidewalks first. We also want your thoughts on the role that property owners should have, since Olympia's code says they are responsible for fixing the sidewalks adjacent to their property.

Please check out our new story map to learn more and answer some questions.

Background
To understand the scale of the problem, in 2024 the City did an inventory of all sidewalks and rated their condition. Among the things you can see in the story map are the results of that work.

The survey in the story map will close March 20.
