Denver Police Arrest Suspects in N. Odessa St. Homicide

Denver - Thursday, April 17, 2025 - The Denver Police Department announces the arrests of Ashley Stone (DOB: 8/1/1986) and David Bland (DOB: 9/3/1985) for Investigation of First-Degree Murder related to the fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in the area of E. 38th Ave. and N. Odessa St.

At approximately 3:42 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, Denver Police received a report of a single-vehicle rollover crash in the area of E. 38th Ave. and N. Odessa St. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the adult male driver was deceased, and three other occupants, an adult female and two children, were transported to local hospitals for treatment of injuries suffered during the crash. It was later determined the driver suffered apparent gunshot injuries.

Investigators obtained information that led to the identification of Ashley Stone and David Bland as the suspects in this homicide, and officers today located and arrested both suspects. Preliminary information indicates the suspects and victims were known to each other. It was reported that on the afternoon of April 16, 2025, there was an altercation involving Ashley Stone and the adult female victim, and a short time later the suspects began following the victims by car, the suspects fired shots into the victims' vehicle, and the adult male driver crashed the vehicle after being shot.

Per standard protocol, the identity of the decedent will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner and the final charges will be determined by the Denver District Attorney's Office.
