Columbia Police respond to shots fired on Allen Street

At approximately 3:48 p.m. on Mar. 4, Columbia Police responded to a shots-fired call in the area of Allen and Bryant Street.

Officers located an adult male victim with a gunshot wound and provided emergency medical care. The adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene. This individual has been identified as William Riechers, 20, of Columbia. Next of kin has been notified.

The criminal investigations division is currently working on this homicide, and anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to come forward.
