Spinato’s Pizzeria Signs Lease in Goodyear’s GSQ Downtown District

Downtown Goodyear continues to grow as Spinato's Pizzeria & Family Kitchen has signed a lease to open a new location within the GSQ district near 150th Drive and McDowell Road.

Founded in Arizona in 1974, Spinato's Pizzeria is a family-owned company known for its handcrafted pizza and Italian-inspired recipes. It has also expanded ownership through an employee stock structure, giving team members a direct stake in its continued success.

"Spinato's is a well-loved Arizona brand and one of the restaurant concepts most requested by residents through the city's retail survey," said Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo. "Their decision to open at GSQ reflects the continued momentum of our downtown and the strong demand for quality dining experiences in Goodyear. We are excited to welcome Spinato's and look forward to their success as part of our growing community."

George Getz, owner and president of Globe Corporation, said GSQ-Goodyear Civic Square is shaping up to be the true heart of the city.

"Our family bought the property in 1970, just four years before Spinato's opened its first restaurant in the Valley. We have watched as Spinato's has grown and have always felt like our core values are aligned. We're all very excited to welcome Spinato's to Goodyear," Getz said.

Spinato's joins a diverse mix of businesses within GSQ, including Trader Joe's, First Watch, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, Banner Health, Avila University Arizona and Spaces, reflecting the district's growing range of dining, services and professional uses.

Additional businesses recently announced for GSQ include AC Hotels, Berry Divine Acai Bowls, Black Rock Coffee Bar, California Fish Grill, CAVA, Fogo de Chão, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Flower Child, Handel's Ice Cream, Magdaleña, Nordstrom Rack, Paris Baguette, Reformed Pilates, VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group) and Zara Nail Bar, with openings planned throughout 2026 and 2027.

GSQ is a walkable mixed-use downtown district anchored by Goodyear Civic Square, home to City Hall, a two-story library, office space and a two-acre park.
