SALISBURY, MD - Kita Douglas, the Lead Patient Service Representative at the TidalHealth Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic in Salisbury, was recently presented with the 2026 Leighton Moore Helping Hands Award by members of TidalHealth's leadership team and the TidalHealth Foundation.

The Leighton Moore Helping Hands Award was established by TidalHealth's Board of Directors in 2014 to honor team members who exemplify Moore's spirit of giving back to the community.

Douglas received multiple heartfelt nominations describing her unwavering commitment to helping others. Repeatedly, those who nominated her spoke not only about her generosity and compassion but about the consistency with which she serves her community - always willing to step forward wherever there is a need.

She is an advocate for individuals experiencing homelessness and a regular supporter of Joseph House through food donations. She is also an active leader within her church through donations, organizing fundraising events and promoting mental health awareness and resources.

Douglas received a gift pack from the TidalHealth Foundation and her name will be added to the Leighton Moore Helping Hands Award plaque.

Moore, a local philanthropist and owner of Seacrets, Jamica USA in Ocean City Maryland, is well known for his dedication to making a difference in our community, including his significant time and efforts to improve healthcare across Delmarva. He provides a shining example of service above self, and through this award, the TidalHealth Foundation honors employees who demonstrate that same spirit of compassion, generosity, and commitment to serving others.

Moore joined the TidalHealth Foundation Board in June 2003 and served as Chair of the Foundation for 14 years before stepping down from that position.

This award is presented annually to an employee who - like Moore - demonstrates a passion for community service and consistently goes above and beyond in caring for others.
