DURHAM, NC (February 20, 2026) - Today, Congresswoman Valerie Foushee (NC-04) sent a letter to three site leaders responsible for overseeing operations at Amazon fulfillment centers and delivery stations in Durham, North Carolina, directing them to organize a townhall with local workers and union leaders.
"As one of the largest employers in our community, workers at the local Amazon facilities in Durham deserve to have their concerns heard and questions answered by company leadership," said Congresswoman Valerie Foushee. "It takes courage for workers to stand up and demand transparency and fairness in the workplace. Amazon must show that it respects its workforce by holding an open town hall, engaging in honest dialogue, and ensuring there is zero retaliation for speaking out."
The letter details how workers at Amazon Delivery Station DRT8, Amazon Fulfillment Center RDU5, and Amazon Fulfillment Center SNC3 formally requested an open, on-site town hall with Amazon management and representatives from Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity & Empowerment ("CAUSE") to ask questions, receive information, and engage in dialogue about their rights and concerns. The Congresswoman noted that many workers across all three facilities support unionization and hold membership in Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity & Empowerment, warning that Amazon's refusal to host an open forum stifles free discourse and raises serious concerns about the company's transparency, accountability, and respect for its Durham workforce.
