Aloha Suspect Indicted and Arrested on Child Sex Abuse Charges

St. Helens, Ore. - On Thursday, July 17, 2025, a Columbia County grand jury indicted Sharlena Jaselle Roberts-Oviatt, 37, of Aloha, Oregon on 10 counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. Roberts-Oviatt was subsequently arrested in the 18000 Block of SW Shaw Street in Aloha on Monday, July 28, 2025, by St. Helens officers with assistance from the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Roberts-Oviatt was lodged at the Columbia County Jail.

Roberts-Oviatt's arrest is the result of an 11-month multi-jurisdictional investigation conducted by the St. Helens Police Department. After receiving information regarding Roberts-Oviatt, detectives immediately initiated an investigation which resulted in several search warrants being executed, including one at Roberts-Oviatt's residence.

The St. Helens Police Department collaborated with several agencies during this investigation including the Oregon Department of Justice, Columbia County District Attorney's Office, Columbia County Sheriff's Office, Vernonia Police Department, Hillsboro Police Department, Washington County Sheriff's Office, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
