Construction on the East Tabor Avenue sidewalk gap project is scheduled to begin Monday, June 29, 2026.
The main project area is East Tabor Avenue between Railroad Avenue and Olive Avenue, with additional sidewalk widening work and access impacts along Tolenas Road. The project will improve pedestrian access by constructing approximately 500 feet of new sidewalk on the north side of East Tabor Avenue between Olive Avenue and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks. A new at-grade pedestrian crossing will also be installed by Union Pacific Railroad.
Additional improvements include relocating an existing driveway near the East Tabor Avenue and Olive Avenue intersection, related parking lot improvements, and widening the sidewalk along Tolenas Road from 4 feet to 6 feet.
The project is expected to last approximately 80 working days. Typical work hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Temporary traffic control will include shoulder and lane closures with flaggers present. No detours or road closures are anticipated. Sidewalk and driveway access will be impacted on Tolenas Road during the sidewalk widening work.
