The State of Washington Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) has received a complaint from a Washington consumer alleging American Home Solutions and Eduardo Salinas were engaging in unlicensed mortgage loan modification services.
At least one consumer reported working with American Home Solutions to obtain a loan modification. This consumer reported providing American Home Solutions with multiple documents containing personal information as well as three upfront payments for the purpose of obtaining a loan modification.
American Home Solutions and Eduardo Salinas are not licensed by DFI and are not registered to conduct business in Washington State by the Department of Licensing, Department of Revenue, or the Secretary of State. DFI has also issued a statement of charges that resulted in Final Order C-24-3779-25-FO01 against the company. In the Final Order, DFI ordered American Home Solutions and Eduardo Salinas to cease and desist from acting as a mortgage broker in Washington State and prohibited both from the Washington mortgage broker industry for seven years.

DFI warns Washington homeowners not to do business with or give any personal information, such as social security number or bank account number or access for their financial institution, company, or an individual, without making sure that the entity or individual is properly licensed. Consumers can determine whether a person or company is properly licensed to conduct residential loan business in the state of Washington by using the "Verify a License" feature on the DFI's website at www.dfi.wa.gov.

Even if your activity involves loan modification services you obtained over the internet, a license is still required.
