The City of Santa Fe wants your input on the proposed living wage. Even if you missed our recent community events, you can still share your thoughts by taking the survey. Your feedback will help shape a plan that keeps Santa Fe diverse, equitable, and affordable.

City staff will also be available at the Local Business Meeting on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Kitchen Angels.

Key points of the proposed ordinance:

-Raise the living wage to $17.50 per hour after a one-year evaluation

-Maintain provisions for tipped workers, Medicaid-dependent nonprofits, and health and childcare benefits

-Tie annual increases to inflation (Western CPI) and local housing costs (HUD Fair Market Rent), capped at 5% per year

-Make Santa Fe the first U.S. city to link a living wage directly to housing costs
