- On 21 March 2026, in response to a reporter's question regarding China's recent activities at Hai Sam (Antelope) Reef in Hoang Sa, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, Pham Thu Hang, stated:

"Viet Nam has ample historical evidence and legal grounds to affirm Viet Nam's sovereignty over Hoang Sa, including Hai Sam (Antelope) reef, in accordance with international law. Any foreign activities conducted in Hoang Sa, including Hai Sam reef, without VietNam's permission are completely illegal and invalid.
