Colorado Christian University Hosts Pinnacle Christian Writers Conference Featuring World-Class Speakers
LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Colorado Christian University welcomed nearly 200 aspiring writers to campus April 17-19 for the Pinnacle Christian Writers Conference, a three-day gathering designed to equip and encourage the next generation of Christian storytellers through world-class instruction, mentorship, and spiritual formation.
Hosted by New York Times bestselling author and CCU trustee Jerry B. Jenkins, the conference marked his first time leading a writers' conference in over a decade. The event brought together an all-star lineup of authors, editors, and publishing professionals committed to investing in writers seeking excellence in both craft and calling.
"It's been so gratifying to get overwhelmingly enthusiastic response from attendees to Pinnacle," said Jerry B. Jenkins, Colorado Christian University trustee. They loved the training, the one-on-one writing counseling, and especially the venue. The CCU campus was the perfect environment."
One of the most meaningful highlights of the conference was the opportunity for attendees to participate in one-on-one appointments with industry professionals. These intentional conversations provided encouragement, practical direction, and personalized feedback. Many participants left with greater clarity and confidence, equipped to more faithfully steward the stories they feel called to tell.
"The Pinnacle Christian Writers Conference reflects Colorado Christian University's commitment to investing in individuals who engage culture with excellence and conviction," said CCU President, Eric Hogue. "We are honored to host aspiring writers who are pursuing both craft and calling to impact the world for Christ."
The conference featured keynote sessions and breakout instruction from a distinguished group of speakers, including Anne Graham Lotz, Angela Hunt, James Scott Bell, Eva Marie Everson, and Chris Fabry, among others. Sessions covered key elements of writing craft, publishing insights, and practical tools to help writers complete and refine their work.
Although unable to attend in person due to travel complications, Lotz delivered a powerful video message encouraging attendees to deepen their relationship with the Holy Spirit and rely on His guidance in both life and writing. Her message resonated deeply, reinforcing the conference's emphasis on writing as both vocation and calling.
Worship throughout the weekend was led by CCU trustee Dr. Biff Gore and daily devotions from former CCU President Dr. Donald Sweeting grounded the conference in reverence, humility, and scripture.
In addition to keynote sessions, attendees participated in breakout workshops, faculty Q&A panels, book signings, and networking opportunities, creating space for meaningful connection and collaboration. The conference concluded with a final session led by Jenkins, encouraging participants to move forward with renewed purpose and practical tools to complete their writing projects.
