SLT-MOBITEL Extends Official Communication Support for National Disaster Relief Efforts

SLT-MOBITEL has joined hands as the official communication partner to strengthen nationwide disaster relief operations carried out in response to the recent adverse weather conditions. The announcement was conveyed to Secretary of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), during a briefing held at the Ministry of Defence yesterday (05 December).

Mr. Lasantha De Silva, Senior Manager of Mobitel, also attended the event.

Under this initiative, SLT-MOBITEL will ensure uninterrupted connectivity for relief missions jointly undertaken by the Ministry of Defence, the Disaster Management Centre and the Tri Forces.

The company will also provide free call and data packages during this period, while a 24 hour medical advisory service will remain accessible through the 247 hotline for affected communities. The service is available across all mobile networks, helping minimise post disaster health risks through timely guidance and support.
