The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) delivered a lecture at the 4th workshop on spotting and tackling fake news, organized by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), as part of the 2026 Anti Fake News Center (AFNC) Project.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the risks and impacts of fake news and online scams, while equipping participants with tools to protect themselves from scammers. It also encouraged participants to take part in monitoring, sharing alerts, and helping curb the spread of fake news in society.<_o3a_p>
The SEC's lecture focused on raising awareness of financial scams in the digital world, strengthening critical thinking skills, and encouraging participants to ask questions before believing information they receive or transferring money. It also covered approaches to building resilience against investment scams and the SEC's role in protecting the public and investors from falling victim to scammers. The workshop was held at Magic 2 Meeting Room, Miracle Grand Convention Hotel, Bangkok, on 21 September 2026.
